Healing in Texas
Written by Afterparty South on 14 July 2016
Jacksonville, an East Texas town, may be far removed from Dallas, but the city is promoting healing after a devastating week that saw officer-involved shootings around the country and an ambush on law enforcement. After all of the violence and tragedy, Felicia Dickerson made it her mission to bring everyone together. She wanted to gather people of all races for prayer, along with their local police department. People from all races and walks of life showed up for the prayer vigil, including the Jacksonville Fire Department. The town wanted to show that they would not stand for hate and love is the greatest gift of all. There were a variety of speakers at the 1-hour event, including local pastors, police officers and community members. See what happens when love overtakes hate as the healing begins in Texas.
