A Dallas police officer was fired for shooting  a mentally ill man while in the line of duty. Reports and video footage incriminated Officer Cardan Spencer along with another officer and ultimately ended his career. Officer Spencer stated that his actions were warranted and that he only reacted based on his training from the police department, however what he didn’t know was the whole ordeal was caught on a neighbors home surveillance. The video footage contradicts the statements made by the officers and shows they weren’t in harm when shots were fired.  Protect and serve: Who’s to blame when a life is lost during the line of duty?
