Drink the Lemonade, Spill the Tea: What Do You Think of Gender Neutral Bathrooms?
Written by Afterparty South on 29 April 2016
Many states around the country are openly debating something that’s been spoken about in hush tones for years: the rights of transgender individuals to use the bathroom of their choice. More specifically, the idea of gender neutral bathrooms has been suggested. The issue has been extremely decisive with hordes of people speaking out and protesting against what they see as unjust laws. For many transgender people, they simply want the right that the majority of us don’t even think about—going into the bathroom of the gender we associate with.
On the other hand, there are people who think the idea is ridiculous and if you’re born a man, go to the men’s room and if you were born a woman, go to the women’s room. They think it’s going to cause too many problems and confusion and can lead to acts of pedophilia, molestation, sexual assaults and the like.
What do you think? What side are you on? Tune in to “Str8talk” tonight at 8 pm CST to voice your opinion on gender neutral bathrooms.
