Why is “Empire” Crumbling? #TellUsHowYouReallyFeel

Remember when “Empire” first hit the scene and it was a force to be reckoned with? Wednesday was no longer simply Wednesday but Empire Wednesday. The “Empire” reigned supreme with its over-the-top characters, dramatic plots and twists and turns that left you wishing you could fast-forward to the week ahead. This season? Not so much.

While “Empire” is still Fox’s top dog and still a bona fide hit, the audience is on the decline. Last season, each week brought new viewers but this season, it’s the opposite. Viewership has declined each week and in addition, it’s not the Twitter hit it once was. At one point “Empire” could garner 700,000 tweets while it airing and this time around about 400,000.

Many fans are claiming that the abundance of guest stars don’t often make sense in the storylines. Others are plain complaining that some of the plots are getting out-of-hand and a little too unrealistic.

But are the bigwigs behind “Empire” concerned? Nope. Just like last season’s hit, they have no apologies and plan on keep doing things their way.
