Is It Ever Okay to Beat Another Person’s Kid? #TellUsHowYouReallyFeel

Written by on 15 September 2015

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but can you beat manners into someone else’s kid? That’s apparently what happened at a deli in New York when a woman decided that a 10-year-old boy’s etiquette needs a little work. And now the police are looking for her.

It all started when the boy went to his father’s store to pick up some bags he had left earlier. When he didn’t say “thank you” to the cashier, a woman in line demanded that he say “please” and “thank you.”

The boy told her, “it’s none of her business” and the stranger replied that she had “better grandsons that respect her and have manners.”

From there, she decided words weren’t good enough and she slapped and punched him, leaving him with a bloody nose.

Is it okay to beat another person’s child? Did this stranger take it too far? Should she have demanded that he have better manners? Was the little boy disrespectful and got what he deserved?
