In January, Drop Pounds, Toxic People; Say No to Stalking & Slavery; and Yes to Mentoring

Written by on 6 January 2016

New Year, New Month, New Commemorations. January is the month of:

  • Weight Loss Awareness Month
  • National Codependency Awareness Month
  • National Mentoring Month
  • Stalking Awareness Month
  • Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month

We all know that once January 1 rolls around, it’s time to start the diets, hit the gym and make promises to lose 50 pounds by March, but how do you keep up the weight loss plan? Try some moderation and you should be fine.

Maybe lesser known is that January is national codependency month, which means it’s time to start off the year but cutting off those toxic, dysfunctional relationships. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?

Now, this is an easy one – mentoring. Spend some time assisting and supporting others to help them realize their full potential.

On a more serious note, January is the month to recognize the seriousness of stalking, slavery and human trafficking. While these issues may often take a backseat, they are very real and affecting society at every level. Speak up and stop these scourges from harming even more people.

Happy January!
