After Bill Cosby’s Drug Admission, How Do You Feel About the Allegations Now?

Written by on 7 July 2015

First thing’s first, despite the fact many people think the myriad of drug and rape allegations are part of some recent campaign to smear Bill Cosby’s legacy, these rumors have been around for many years. Little tidbits would leak out but they would just as suddenly be swept right back under the rug. However, for the past year, Cosby hasn’t been able to dodge accusations from more than a dozen women, including some well-known celebrities like Janice Dickinson and Beverly Johnson.

A whole new aspect has been added now that we’ve learned that Cosby admitted back in 2005 under oath in a civil suit that yes, he had Quaaludes in his possession and yes, he had them for the purpose of giving them to young women that he wanted to have sex with. After official after official statement categorically denying all of the allegations and his bold silence, these rumors are starting to seem more and more like fact.

Why is it so hard for people to not believe these disturbing allegations? Does society still view Cosby as the fatherly Heathcliff Huxtable from the fictional “The Cosby Show?” If it was another celebrity, would we be more willing to accept these allegations as true?
