Stevie J Owes $1.28 Million in Back Child Support
Written by on 29 October 2013
With the premiere of the newest season of Love & Hip Hop: New York happening last night, it’s only right that new dram about a member of the Atlanta cast drops the next day. Stevie J is here to remind the world why he is the greatest reality star of all time… this man owes $1.28 million dollars worth of back child support, and Uncle Sam says it’s time to pay up!
$1.28 million though? Yall are probably wondering how he could accumulate such debt. Well, it stems from not paying support for two out of the four children he’s fathered.
Here’s the scoop:
Carol Bennett, who is a former music executive and custodial parent to 2 children is owed $1,051,841.70 according to the New York City Office of Child Support Enforcement. Prior to their separation, Ms. Bennett helped Stevie J in the development of his music career. Mr. Jordan (Stevie J) became one of the top music producers at “Bad Boy Records” and proceeded to produce untold hit records that generated hundreds of millions in records sales.
Ms. Bennett has contracted Project Child Support, an organization spearheaded by Kai D. Patterson, who is the CEO of “Bounty Alert” and founder of the “Custodial Support Foundation” to uncover and collect Steve Jordan’s assets, including any and all companies that may be used as a financial shelter.
Under the 1992 Child Support Recovery Act, it is a crime to leave a state owing more than $10,000 in unpaid child support arrears for more than 2 years. Mr. Jordan owed more than 20 times that when he left New York to live in the state of Georgia.
