8 Year Old Fights Back Against Robber, and Wins

This is definitely news you don’t hear often. While a family sat parked at a gas station in Houston, Texas, a robber reached into their car and snatched the mother’s purse. The robber must not have seen the two children, who waited in the car while their mother paid for gas, as a big threat to his crime, but boy was he wrong.

The eight year old boy, Jose Alonso, told his sister, “just stay here, don’t do anything,” while he went after his mother’s belongings. NY Daily News is reporting that surveillance cameras caught the robber struggling with the little boy on camera before the robber hopped into an SUV to get away.

Jose was not having that. The child raced after the robber (wearing only one shoe), and was able to grab his mother’s wallet out of the stolen purse before the robber got away, leaving the suspect with just an empty purse and a set of keys.

It was revealed that the Alonso family had been planning a party for the other sibling, and Jose didn’t want the robbery to affect his sister having her celebration. “My sister’s party was coming up and I wanted to have her party, and I wanted my mom to get all of her stuff back,” Jose said.

I bet the robber will think twice before messing with a couple of kids again…
