The Underground Party: Icy Mike “$treet Lyfe”

Written by on 19 November 2014

While other artists are trying to burn up the charts, Icy Mike is trying chill at the top. Dallas native Icy Mike, born Jermal Tolbert, has been passionate and consistent about pursuing a career in music for as long as he can remember. With great talent and hard work comes recognition, and Icy Mike has received plenty of that. His distinct flow and style caught the eye and praise of Apostle Paw of Lion’s Den Records, which led to the hit song, “Stay out My Lane.” Future collaborations had Mike being featured on Apostle Paw’s album, “Back in Da Game.”

Following this buzz, Icy Mike decided it was time to put down his own roots and is currently working on releasing his debut album titled, “$treet Lyfe.” With his unique, soulful singing combined with a street-edge hardness, this album is full of raw grit, energy and lyrical prowess that the streets are sure to embrace. Upcoming singles, “Be with Me” and “Won’t Do” embodies Icy Mike’s essence as an artist.

Under the B.M.E (Big Money Empire) label, Icy Mike’s goal is to let the world see and feel more of the Dallas he loves, while diversifying the local music scene at the same time. He’s ready to carve out a rightfully-deserved space for Dallas on the national musical map.

Icy Mike can be followed on Facebook at Jermal Tolbert (Icy Mike), Instagram and Twitter @SoloMikey or on SoundCloud @Solomikey31. His official video, “$treet Lyfe” featuring Fester, can be viewed on YouTube.

If you want to get up close and personal with Icy Mike, he will be a guest on The Midday Party at Tha Afterparty Radio on Wednesday, November 26 from 6-8 p.m. You definitely will not want to miss it.
