Celebrating MLK Day: Honoring the Remarkable Life of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

As we celebrate the remarkable life and achievements of one of the greatest leaders and orators in our history, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., it’s important to not only remember his words and actions within the context of his life but how those very words and actions still hold relevance today and ring true in the hearts and the minds of citizens all over the world. As time marches on and things undoubtedly change for the better, so many remnants from our nation’s ugly past are resistant to change, making Dr. King’s life and legacy just as poignant. As the U.S. celebrates a national hero and many of us enjoy a day off, let’s not forget the causes that Dr. King held so dear that he was willing to give his life for to leave a blueprint for generations to come. Though he accomplished much in his life and continues to do so even in death, there’s still so much we can all do to fulfill his vision.
