If I Don’t Think Caitlyn Jenner is Beautiful, Am I Homophobic?

Written by on 15 December 2015

Ever since Caitlyn Jenner made her transition from Bruce to Caitlyn, she’s started a national conversation, graced countless covers, been the subject of story after story and even scored her own series. The common theme is we must accept Caitlyn; it’s the politically correct thing to do. If we don’t accept Caitlyn and if we don’t think of her as a beautiful woman, we must be homophobic; something is wrong with us. After all, it’s 2015 and we must be accepting of everybody and respect everyone’s rights to be themselves. But what if we honestly don’t think she’s beautiful, does it make us a bad person? Are we a bunch of backwoods homophobes? What about our right to not have to accept something that a lot of us can’t and don’t understand? Where is the line between being respectful of others and having a good old-fashioned opinion? #LetUsKnowHowYouReallyFeel
