Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Continuing the Fight…

Written by on 14 October 2013

Every October we  dress in pink attire, wear pink ribbons and join in walks across America to increase awareness of the disease breast cancer. About 1 in 8 (12%) women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.  2013 statistics from the American Cancer Society state that about 232,340 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women. Those are startling numbers! What can we do to help?

AWARENESS IS THE KEY! We must first begin with education so that we can prevent this disease from taking over our communities. I personally  have been affected by this terrible disease. My sister lost her battle at the age of 37, and I have two aunts that are survivors. My story, however is not unique. This disease is claiming more lives every year and affecting our families.

Tha Afterparty Radio wants to partner with you to bring more awareness by  opening the airwaves to have more discussions and to have you the listeners  join in with the fight! Stay tuned daily for special guests, informative discussions and call in to share your stories!

See you at Tha Party!
