Up And Coming Singer’s Powerful Journey: Darcell

Darcell is no stranger to adversity or challenges. He is no stranger to struggling or even falling short when it comes to his personal and career aspirations and pursuits. R&B singer, producer and songwriter, Darcell only understands one thing when it comes to opposition … that his faith and belief in God and the calling on his life drives him to go above and behind the hardships that the world has thrown at him.

After a brief acting and modeling stint, Darcell decided to pursue his true love, music and fell in love with it. During his musical pursuits, he has endured constant hardships that would have made most people give up on their dreams. Darcell has survived homelessness, not once or twice, but several times all while supporting the love of his life, Angela and their two small children.  His absolute drive to become the next star in R&B has left him living in his car, raising his two children in various Los Angeles motels, and having multiple cars repossessed.

“I believe and know that God called me to spread His message of love,” says Darcell. “It has been challenging most days but I thank God that He knows that He can trust me to keep going despite the temporary situations we have had to endure.”

Darcell’s message of love inspired him to pair up with childhood friend and comedian Edwin Douglas for his Perfect Love tour where he toured across the US to perform for charity events and small concerts. While Darcell received some local notoriety in Los Angeles because of his constant grind and hustle in the streets, which led him to independently sell more than 70,000 copies of his self-titled CD, Darcell, he has returned to his hometown of Dallas, TX to continue his message of love.

“Love is the answer regardless of the question,” shares Darcell. “And for me, music has gotten away from its roots and people are missing real quality music which my music is,” shares Darcell.
