Up with Goodwill, Down with Consumerism
Christmas is right around the corner and while gifts, shopping and consumerism are a huge part of the holiday season and seem to dominate the landscape, these aspects should not be the sole focus. With all of the tension and ugliness caused by the most current election cycle, there’s a need now more than ever for humanity and goodwill for all. Instead of having unbelievably high and unrealistic expectations for Christmas, which more than likely will lead to disappointment, remember there are those out there who literally have nothing and are often forgot about year-round until the holidays roll around. Spend some time thinking about others and helping those around you. Be grateful for what you do have and encourage those around you to do the same. After all, that’s the real highlight of the holidays, spreading a little cheer and goodwill and seeing the best that humanity has to offer.
