Time to Pull the Plug on Bobbi Kristina? Not So Fast, Says Her family
Written by Tamara M. on 11 February 2015
With the soap opera-esque drama that has become Bobbi Kristina’s existence for these past couple of weeks, it is so hard to sort out what is true and what is false. There’s an abundance of news, pseudo-news and flat out rumors coming from every which way. One source says she’s brain dead, another says she’s showing signs of improvements and there’s everything in between.
The latest round is that she’s going to be taken off of life support on February 11 to coincide with the 3rd anniversary of her superstar mother, Whitney Houston’s, death. Just when this seemed to be the finale, a source close to the family is claiming this is not true.
In fact, Bobbi Kristina’s father, R&B star Bobby Brown, has issued a statement in part that was aimed quite pointedly at all the misinformation being disseminated.
“The desire to be first has clouded the judgment of many reporters as they forgo accuracy.”
In a 24-hour news cycle, outlets of all sizes and reputations are clamoring to be the first and to get that exclusive piece of information. However, sometimes it comes at the price of being baseless, egregious and downright inappropriate.
At the end of the day, Bobbi Kristina is someone’s child and is in a grave enough situation as it is, without everyone guessing what’s coming next. Let her family have some peace in this tragic time and when the time comes for us to hear real news about her condition, let it be her family who tells us and not some anonymous source.
And let this be an important reminder – don’t believe everything you read and see and check the source you’re getting your information from.
