Tha Afterparty Featured Artist of the Week — Brandon Kareem

Written by on 27 April 2018

With an eclectic sound that spans from R&B to soul with some pop thrown in the mix, Brandon Kareem has seen his music gather enough steam over the years to develop a worldwide following. Involved in music for more than 20 years, Brandon has worn many hats from management to production to booking and promoting and, of course, singing. According to Brandon, “I pretty much do it all.” Not wanting to boil down his sound to any one style, Brandon doesn’t limit himself to one category. However, he views his music as truly personal to his essence, “My music mirrors my life. It gives you an intimate view of who I am.” Brandon just dropped a new single, “Barista Sista,” which can be purchased on various digital and streaming platforms. Additionally, he’s working on a live album with his band, Orange Juice. Reminiscing about his most memorable musical moment was when he and his group opened up for Frankie Beverly and Maze in Chicago.

From his music, Brandon wants his fans to see his soul through his music. “I put a lot of my pain, my heart into my music. I want them to see me, but I also want them to see themselves because the things that I talk about are things they may have went through.” Brandon views music as the soundtrack of life that can heal all wounds. At the end of the day, Brandon is thankful for each fan that he makes and believes in making one fan at a time. “I just want to make sure that I tell everyone please follow me on all social media; it’s very easy to find ‘The Real Brandon Kareem’ on everything. Peace and love to each and every one of you.”
