Hour of Action Arrived for Pres. Trump, Hold Him Accountable

Written by on 20 January 2017

While the presidency should be approached with the utmost honor, decency, integrity and soberness, the actual president is an entire different matter. Though the two are inextricably linked, there is a stark distinction between the two. Case in point is the current inauguration. Regardless of how you feel, on this January 20, 2017, Donald J. Trump has been inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States of America.

Striking a tone reminiscent of his past speeches and rhetoric with isolationist, nationalist, populist and even racist and elitist tones, Trump said during his inaugural address of America to “restore its promise for all of our people” and said the “power is being handed back to the people.” Since he continues to assert that he will help the inner cities, now is the time to speak up and hold him accountable. If he wants to be the ‘Great White Savior,’ we should give him a chance. Write, tweet, email, call, make videos — whatever — to let him know your real take on the state of the black community and what needs to be done and see how he responds. Happy first day, Mr. President!
