The Underground Party: @Jerrell_QashFlo “Triple D Cowboy”

Written by on 8 December 2014

There’s a new breed of cowboys in Dallas and we’re not talking about America’s Team. Jerrell QashFlo is introducing us to the “Triple D Cowboy,” the cowboys who are about their money and getting ahead in life, which is something that this rapper is more than familiar with.  Rising above almost seemingly impossible odds, Jerrell QashFlo has shown what grit and determination can get you — a brighter future and endless possibilities. Born Mario Butler, the oldest of three siblings in one of Dallas’ toughest neighborhoods, West Dallas, QashFlo knew that he wouldn’t get weighed down by the crime and urban blight surrounding him. He decided to pick up his weapon of choice — his imagination.

Throughout the years, he allowed his imagination to grow and flourish to transcend the despair he saw around him. QashFlo nurtured the gift within himself, honing his songwriting, singing, rapping and performing abilities.

With his notable sound and intense lyrics, QashFlo continued to test the limits of his creativity, while exploring new sounds and styles. Often feeling at odds with his contemporaries over his divergent path, he pressed on knowing he was destined for more.

At the end of the day, Jerrell QashFlo views his misfortune as a blessing in disguise and wants to continue to uplift his neighborhood, peers and all around him with his superior art of storytelling.

In his words, “My personal love for music has proven to be my catalyst for making songwriting my primary focus.”

Tha Afterparty Radio is proud to feature Jerrell QashFlo as a special guest on The Street Committee on Saturday, December 20, from noon to 2:00 p.m. and on Str8Talk with the Fellas on Saturday, December 27 from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

In addition, his music will be in rotation all month long on the Midday Mix with Grupieluv, which you can keep in rotation by requesting it on all live shows on the B Side.
